New Lens + Mini review

I've been after this lens from quite sometime now and It has been out-of-stock at local stores due to Canon distributor in Pakistan MBM's clumsy attitude.

Just couldn't resist when the dollar was low a couple of weeks ago against our currency so just ordered this from Adorama.com along with few other things... as usual good shipping and great packing by them.

<sub>Impressions:

Pros:
-Its an impressive fast glass not just because of aperture but also the AF speed. It only takes approx 1/2 second to travel from MFD to infinity.
-Sharp wide open at 1.8 with good contrast!
-Bokeh! very creamy... key feature of this glass.
-Build is very good for a non L glass.

Cons:
- Slight purple fringing around highlights at wide open apertures in very high contrast conditions though only pixelpeepers can notice this so its totally acceptable for such fast glass at this price.
-Hood not supplied.

All in all I'd say the best investment by me after Sigma 10-20 !
I think I am done with equipment shopping for a while. I really want to believe that</sub>

It was too lazy to setup all the strobist stuff for this so just turned on all the lights in my room, cranked up the ISO1600 (which is impressive on this 1000D) and then boom.
